About the project:
Vota Inteligente is the first initiative of the Fundación Ciudadano Inteligente. It is a web platform that shows the relevant information about the parliamentarians and the principal actors on the political scene in Chile. It empowers citizens to make informed decisions, therefore holding their representatives accountable and making them more efficient. This platform helps the citizens to monitor what takes place in Congress.

Starting on the 11th of March 2010, the aim of the Vota Inteligente has been centered around promoting transparency and accountability, specifically in the Chilean National Congress. Finally, completing these said objectives and closing the gap between the parliament and the citizen, our platform has developed different applications to grant citizens with the tools in order to get to know, understand and evaluate the work that their representatives are undertaking in legislature.

Vota Inteligente is a web platform that contains relevant information about the parliamentarians and the main political players; this simple tool allows citiizens to make informed decisions so that their representatives are more politically effective. By joining together with citizens, we are more successful in monitoring the performance of our political representatives. We are empowering the public to make informed decisions; with this we are closing the gap between the citizen and the political environment.

Vota Inteligente is the largest and most comprehensive platform of Chile that oversees the work of the Parliament. The platform is developed with the framework Symfony (PHP) that uses a MySQL database. The code is available in our repository in GitHub . Under the GNU Affero General Public License.
